BHR Chickens & Ducks
Where My Chicks At?

About the Process
This pages walks you through each step of the process necessary to make an official change to the Restrictive Covenants.

Step 1
The first step in the process is to obtain notarized signatures of home owners within the community on the official petition form. In order to proceed to the next steps in the process, BHR Chickens and Ducks will need to obtain signatures from 66% of home owners.
We plan to make this as easy as possible for you! We have a notary that will notarize your signature for free! The team will be holding signature events at the clubhouse, pool and even going door to door to come to you to make your participation easy!
You can even contact us via BHRchickens@gmail.com or through the Facebook page to schedule a time to add your signature to the petition.
Step 2
This step is to present the petition of official signatures and detailed information to the BHR Board of Directors for Official Approval.

Step 3
Once the Board approves the change to the Restrictive Covenants, the petition and supporting documents will be given to the BHR Lawyer to submit to Durham County to make the official change.
Step 4
It's OFFICIAL! At the completion of steps 1-4 you'll now be able to have chickens & ducks here in BHR! Now you can begin to submit any necessary paperwork to the Architecture Committee to start your chicken and or duck adventures!
See Petition for more information for restrictions, necessary approvals and more.
