BHR Chickens & Ducks
Where My Chicks At?

What is BHR Chickens & Ducks
BHR Chickens & Ducks is a group of residents come together to address the community about amending the Restrictive Covenants in order to allow chickens (NO Roosters) ducks in Black Horse Run of Bahama, NC. Find all the answers here about chickens & ducks, the change process and more!

The Process
In order to allow chickens and ducks in BHR, there must be a formal update made to the Restrictive Covenants that are registered with Durham County.
The first step in the process is to obtain notarized signatures of home owners within the community. Don't Worry! The BHR Chicks & Ducks has a notary on the team that will notarize your signature for free!
The team will be holding signature times at the clubhouse, pool and even going door to door to come to you to make your participation easy!
It's in the Details
The purposed petition is detailed to make every resident more comfortable with the big change.
Some of the information you will see includes:
-
No property may house Roosters.
-
Maximum of 5 chickens and 2 ducks per half acre.
-
Chickens and ducks must be maintained withing a structured fence/coup. No free-range chickens or ducks outside of structured fencing/coop.
-
Chickens and ducks must remain on their property only.
